Exploring the Sky was founded in 2013 as the artistic expression from my studies and travels around the world.
After ten years of refining my craft in the academic world and exploring and researching the cultural world, Exploring the Sky has returned to share the findings of that journey and set out on more adventures.
Exploring the Sky aims to explore and preserve the cultural and geographic histories that shape our world.
A Cultural Geographic History of the greater Cache la Poudre River Region.
An examination of cultural objects in museums and the public's engagment of them in.
A through the seasons photographic journey along the Cache la Poudre River/ Spanning 2020-2023 the exhibition documents a river affected by the Cameron Peak Fire in 2020, the Black Hollow flood in 2021, and 2023 flooding along Poudre trail in Greeley.
Pescador Khan's journey into the world of spirit painting. Inspired by pilgrimages through the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area and Wild and Scenic River; the Gunnison Country; the Colorado, Yampa, Durance, Rhone, and Oise River Valleys; and to the inspirations of Van Gogh and Monet and to the sacred sights of Mount Hiei, Suzumushi Dera, Ninna Ji, Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde, Mission San Xavier del Bac, Salinas Pueblo Missions, Chetro Ketl, Crazy Horse, and Dignity of Earth and Sky.
With specialties in historic research, preservation, curation, and museum management I am ready to answer those questions.
About Georgaphic Historian Nicholas A Fischer:
I attained a MA in History in 2022 from the University of Northern Colorado and a MA in Museum Gallery and Exhibition Managment from Western Colorado University in 2019. In 2023 I was a Park Planning Fellow for the National Park Service. I have ten years of experience, exploring and researching North American, East Asian, Eurasian Steppe, French, and Buddhist: histories, geographies, and cultural expressions. I also have over ten years researching and managing collections in library archives and regional museums and developing and hosting special events.
